UPLOADER KIOSK SERVER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Intrensic
Detailed hardware, software, and network specifications for the dedicated camera upload appliance
Wrap Intrensic Uploader KIOSK Server
Minimum Requirements (Details)
1) Dedicated Windows Computer must be used as an appliance device no other applications required. Wrap Intrensic will supply KIOSK Server Software for uploading the Cameras.
This computer is a dedicated single-purpose computer/appliance. Its only role is to safely upload all files recorded on the cameras to the cloud. No other applications except for the Wrap Intrensic Uploader KIOSK Server Software should be run on this computer. Its only purpose is to upload the cameras.
2) i7 Multicore Processor or faster preferably a workstation-grade CPU (as opposed to Laptop grade)
Having the fastest processors and a workstation grade computer is highly recommended. The computer will compress, and upload compressed files to the cloud. Compression requires powerful processors to efficiently compress quickly. Slower processors may cause delays compressing and uploading the files by the next shift.
3) 16GB RAM or greater
4) Ethernet Connection (WiFi is not recommended)
A good Internet connection is required. Many GBs of video files MUST be uploaded before the next shift. An Internet outage or slow internet upload speeds may cause delays and problems for the next shift.
5) Internet Access Only (Does not require access to any internal customer networks)
Only outbound access to the Internet is required. There is no requirement to access anything on the local customer networks. The computer should be protected by a network firewall.
6) Internet Upload Speeds of 8Mbps or greater
It is necessary to have fast upload speeds to move many GBs of video files to the cloud. A slow upload speed or internet outage will prevent files from being uploaded and may cause delays and problems for the next shift.
7) Free Space
a. 10 – Cameras: 1 TB
b. 20 – Cameras: 2 TB
The computer will temporarily hold the contents of the cameras until the files are compressed and uploaded to the cloud. Free space is required to hold the files until they are successfully uploaded. 1 and 2 TBs are not exact numbers. If there is a little less it will not be a problem.
8) Maximum 20 Cameras Uploaded from a single Wrap Intrensic KIOSK (2 x 10-Port Multiport Camera Docking Stations) The Wrap Intrensic KIOSK Server cannot upload more than twenty cameras at a time. This is a limitation in Windows.
9) Microsoft Windows 10/11 (any version) with the latest Updates
10) Microsoft .NET 4.8 Framework Runtime or greater (comes automatically with Windows 10/11 latest Updates)
Required to have Microsoft .NET 4.8 Framework Runtime or greater to run the Wrap Intrensic Uploader software
11) Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package with MFC Security Update
Required to have Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package with MFC Security Update to run the Wrap Intrensic Uploader software
12) Remove any bundled or preinstalled software
No other software installed on the computer except a browser and virus protection.
13) Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome Browser (prefer Google Chrome)
14) Microsoft Windows Defender or “company” Virus Protection (must allow Wrap Intrensic Software to run and access Internet)
15) Computer configured to never power off, log off, sleep, or hibernate
16) Wrap Intrensic Uploader latest version
The Wrap Intrensic Uploader KIOSK Server Software will be provided with installation instructions, username, and password. Once the software is installed and running the software will take over the desktop and provide user interface for uploading cameras only.
If newer versions of the Wrap Intrensic Uploader Software are available, the updates will be installed automatically without user intervention. Only the Wrap Intrensic Uploader Software will be automatically updated.
17) (Optional) Touch Screen Monitor
18) (Optional) Deskside UPS - Uninterruptible Power Supply
If the computer and Internet are installed in a location with frequent power outages, it would be a requirement to install a UPS to protect the Windows Computer and the Internet Network Equipment from crashing. Crashing frequently could cause data loss or other problems.
19) Work Area
It would be good to have the computer and the multiport docking station on a desk or stabile table in a permanent location to support the computer and cameras while they upload and recharge. Power for the Computer, Monitor, Multiport Docking Station, and Internet Access will be needed at this location.
20) Wrap Intrensic Remote Support Software (Beyond Trust formerly Bomgar)
During startup and if there is any support needed afterwards, remote control software can be initiated by the user at the installed location to connect with an Wrap Intrensic technician to assist. This should never happen, but if necessary, a remote session will correct any problems quickly and get the uploads going to the cloud again. Typical problems are Internet outages and physical computer problems unrelated to the Wrap Intrensic Uploader KIOSK Server software.
