Step 1: Remove the Cassette for general safety and remove the screws to access the battery compartment area.
Step 2: To clean the gold battery pack contacts, wipe with alcohol wipes (such as from standard first aid kit) or lens cleaning wipes. You will notice a black residue is wiped away. Do not use anything like Windex or ammonia based.
Step 3: To clean the gold device battery contacts, use the same materials above. However, only wipe in a downward motion. Side to side wiping could bend and damage the contacts. Do not pull the pins upward.
